Leigh School Football Team 1933/34 – given to the Historical Society by Margaret Pyle, grand-daughter of Fred and Emily Fitzjohn. Jim Fitzjohn named in the picture would have been her uncle.

John Evelyn was the manager of the whole gunpowder mills from 1920 until 1934 when the works were moved by ICI to Scotland. John Evelyn and a few of the other workers moved to Scotland.
