James Richards

TF/202369, formerly 6612, Private, 1st /7th Battalion, Duke of Cambridge (Middlesex Regiment). Enlisted Purfleet. Gained two campaign medals. Killed in Action 3rd May 1917 aged about 21. Remembered on the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.

Born in Chiddingstone, Kent about 1896. The fifth son of Thomas Richards a widower with five sons and two daughters, the youngest aged four. Thomas Richards worked as a Railway Platelayer.
