1859 Conveyance Plan

Said to be from a sale in 1859, but source unknown currently. It includes the workers cottages; a proving ground; a glazing house; a packing house and a cheese house. The exact nature of the cheese house is unclear but Wayne Cocroft suggests that it was a local name for a corning house because the pieces of lignum vitae used to break up the gunpowder “cakes” in corning houses were somtimes called “cheeses”.
