Farm Survey 1819 – Little Kettles Farm

This survey was made by Charles Doubell of a small farm owned by James Rose. It was just under 11 acres but included two small hop gardens. There is a later manuscript note on the plan showing that 1.3.9. acres were sold off. This would have been the sale to the railway company of the southern part of the property for the line between Penshurst and Tonbridge. At the time of the 1839 Tithe Map this property was called Little Hamptons Farm and in 1859 it was the property on which Knotley Hall was built.
