James Charles DAVIS

Corporal M/298237, attd. 45th Anti-Aircraft, Royal Army Service Corps. Enlisted Southend. Died 8th June 1918. Buried at Southend-on-sea (Leigh-on-sea) Cemetery.

Born in Leigh, Kent. Moved to Wood Green Middlesex in 1899 to work as a Hosiery Warehouseman. Resident in Brockly at the time of enlistment. Son of Charles and Eliza Davis of West Gatehouse Lodge, Leigh. Remembered on parent’s gravestone in St Mary’s churchyard Leigh.

Remembered on the Leigh War Memorial.
